Monica Dare

I believe we all have it in us to create and enjoy efficiency of movement within our bodies. With my encouragement and expertise combined with your trust and commitment to change, I believe you can unlearn and break habits allowing freedom and ease of movement.

I trained in London with Body Control in 1998; from there I moved to Brighton where I worked at one of the UK’s leading studios for 18 months. I continued my studies in Kendal where I completed a three year full time training course qualifying in The Alexander Technique.

In 1999 I qualified in the Pilates Reformer, and in 2005 in the Pilates Cadillac. These are specialist pieces of equipment designed by Joseph Pilates.

Hanna Somatics

In 2016, I discovered Hanna Somatics and feel very excited about this. I decided to train as a coach for Hanna Somatics Movement. By June 2017, I will have completed two training courses with world-leading teacher Martha Patterson.

Armed with 22 years experience, I now teach, develop and combine Pilates, Alexander Techniques and Hanna Somatic Movement into a dynamic system focused on body control, stability, awareness and movement with an emphasis and understanding of all three disciplines which merge into a total system of body control.

I teach, design and deliver workshops locally, which focus on freedom of movement in walking, shoulder hypertension and stabilisation.

Collaboration with health professionals

I work closely with physiotherapists, osteopaths and other health professionals.  They highly respect and approve of my approach, finding it particularly safe for those with not only back, but a whole range of movement and integrated functional problems.

I look forward to working with you. If you have any queries please get in touch!
